SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?

At least once, if im staying away from home I love the nivea face wipes :)

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo)

I am a combination of dry and sensetive :)

 -What is your current facial wash?

Clean and clear daily exfoliating wash :)

 -Do you exfoliate?

Yes, every week :) I have to do it before a nightout if I'm wearing tan because I have such dry skin :)

-What brand do you use?

Don't actually know the brand, lol, it was given as part of a set and I can't actually remember the name but its got green tea in it anyway :P 

-What moisturizer do you use?

Vaseline aloe fresh moisturising lotion :) or nivea cream! both are really moisturising!

-Do you have freckles?

Yes...an abundance of them :(

-Do you use eye cream?

Nope :)

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Never, I get a few spots now and then but rarely :)

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

Never :)

My foundation brush, blending brushes, angled eyeliner brush, sometimes a sponge to stiple on foundation :) Its good for dry skin :)

My urban decay primer potion :)

Urban Decay Naked palette, sin,half baked or naked :)

Both, liquid for my eyelid and pencil for my lower waterline :)

never mine, but always other peoples eyes :P

1:Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? Both really, lol, depends on wether I closed it after taking something out :D

2:Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel? If they smell nice :p

3:Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? I try to keep them tucked in, but always ends up untucking(?) themselves :D

4:Have you ever stolen a street sign before? nope :)

5:Do you like to use post-it notes? Used to buy pink heart shaped ones and stick them all over my books in school, but never actually used them for homework or something useful :P

6:Do you cut out coupons but then never use them? Nope, never use them :)

Keep Calm :)

Hey again everybody!

This time I decided to write something different;  coping with stress, as I felt its something I've had to cope with myself in the last month or so. So here are some hints and tips that I find helpful when I feel under pressure, hope you can all relate to them and find them useful. Just remember to stay calm and that things can only get better :)

So what exactly is stress?

Stress is the body's way of responding to any kind of demand in life. There are so many types of stress, from worrying about small things like, where did I leave my phone? to How am I going to keep food on the table? 

Personally I am the type to worry about the smallest little things, like what people think of me, or what if my clothes aren't nice on me, such stupid little things to worry about when I think about it! But I often worry about the future as well, where will I be, what job will I have, will I be secure? Stress can really depend on alot of things, your lifestyle, your age, even your gender! Thankfully I managed to get past my teenage years but they can be so stressful to both boys and girls, worrying about their appearance and whether they'll be liked in society. All I can advise to any young people is just be yourself, no matter what you do, feel or look like. You're made that way for a reason. It took me a long time to realise this, but it's true. 

If you are stressed about your appearance, look at the video for Christina Aguilera's song 'Beautiful' and just think, she wrote that song for a reason, even somebody as successful and amazing as her had doubts about herself. Each person is their own worst critic. You just have to look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful inside and out! 

When I get stressed, I feel down, I find it hard to put a smile on my face. Because I'm usually such a bubbly happy person, EVERYBODY notices when I'm upset, which is a good thing really, because then I realise no matter what, I'll never be alone!  This is a very important thing to realise when you are upset, DO NOT be afraid to speak to somebody, its so unhealthy to keep it bottled up. 

When I get really tense about something, maybe money worries or an exam, I always feel muscle pain in the back of my neck and shoulders, sometimes I even feel sick in my stomach. Some people I know experience insomnia, headaches, even shortness of breath. In worst case scenarios it can lead to a mental breakdown. 

If your feeling stressed, you should never let it get that far, always remember there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. 

What do I do when I am stressed?

When I do feel stressed, I make sure I tell somebody about it, luckily I'm blessed with a great bunch of family and friends to get advice from. I always feel so much better after I tell someone what is worrying me. After all a problem shared is a problem halved! 

I also like to listen to feel good music, yes even the really cheesy ones! Some songs that help me are Don't worry be happy by Bobby McFerrin (a personal favourite since I was a child) One Republic- Good life, Eliza Doolitle- pack it up, The lighthouse family- High and of course Don't stop believing( which helped me through my exams in secondary school) 

One of the best cures I find for stress is a really long walk, somewhere peaceful, wether your alone or with somebody because it can really clear the mind! You could also take up a new hobby, maybe an adventure sport, go to the gym, or even join a local book club or cinema club to meet new people and  help take your mind off things! There are endless possibilites! 

Ok so everyone, I hope this helps if you are finding yourself under pressure, please don't let it get to you too much, as I said above talk to people, find a new hobby, go for walks, anything to help take your mind off things!

Recent buys :)

Hey Everyone! 

So it has been ages since I wrote a blog, but I've been busy lately and sick to boot :(

 huge apologies :(!

So recently I went to Penneys/Primark and bought a few bits and bobs. Now I went in with every intention of window shopping but it was just too hard to resist a bargain!

My sister and I were shopping for an outfit for her as she is going out this weekend. I decided to venture off for myself, as you do and came across a small sale in the jewellery section. 

Now I rarely buy jewellery, but I just couldn't ignore these few items that I bought which cost me less than a fiver!!!

It has been a dream of mine to buy this type of necklace for ages but I didn't really know what to pair it with, so I have decided a black lace dress, to give it a classy look :) ! I think the ring and matching earrings team it to perfection...ready to hit the town!

Being the makeup obsessed woman that I am...I also happened to find myself in the makeup section enroute to the checkout and bought this foundation and eyeliner, delighted! :) Now just to try them out, cannot wait!

Personal favourites :)

Hey everyone! Sorry for taking so long to write the next blog, I have been so busy working, preparing my projects for college and of course fitting in some socialising as well, has to be done! ;)
Soooo...for this blog I am going to tell you about 5 personal favourite makeup items that are in my makeup kit :)..all will be pictured below !
5. Essence gel liner, 01. Midnight in paris

I use this gel liner mostly for going out as it is cheap and cheerful, very easy to apply and lasts all night long. It is the perfect companion to a dramatic smokey eye. However, what I don't like about this product is that it is quite hard to take off! Easiest method? An oil based cleanser and a make up wipe, does the job :)
4. No.7 smoky rose quad eyeshadow set.

I love this product! It has 4 beautiful metallic based eyeshadows which can be used seperately or combined depending on which look you are going for :) the colours are a creamy ivory, an ashes of roses colour (dusky pink) a mauve colour and a dark purple, all with silver and gold flecks through them.
3. Catrice Intensif'eye wet and dry eyeshadow in 010 black or white swan?

Another product I adore, this eye shadow can be applied dry or wet, again depending on what you are going for. Personally I like to apply it on top of a gel eyeliner base, in the middle of the eye or the moving part of the eye, just where the eyeball is, to create a fantastic smokey eye. (fyi I will be doing a blog/tutorial based on this look! )
2. Matis avantage jeunesse moisturiser for normal and combination skin.

Finally! A moisturiser I can work with. My skin is unbelievably dry and sensetive especially around my cheeks and forehead, but this moisturiser is a skin saviour. My skin feels unbelievably soft afterwards and it calms my sensetive cheeks also. I also find that my skin has cleared up remarkably since using this brand. Defenitely worth buying.
1. Max factor miracle touch liquid illusion foundation in 40 creamy ivory.

This foundation is without doubt the best I have ever bought. Because it is a creamy liquid foundation it hydrates my skin, it is yellow toned and covers any redness I have on my face and it matches my skin perfectly, the only problem with it is that it's in a small container, therefore it doesn't last as long, however! I recently discovered that mixing the foundation with a primer makes it last longer as the primer mixed foundation spreads evenly and creates a matte look to the skin. A product defenitely worth saving the weekly grocery money for :p

Me, myself and I :)

First things first, my name is Sandra, as you may have guessed although most call me Sandy, or Sandralyne :) I am from the (sometimes) beautiful west coast of Ireland. I live on a small farm in a place called Gortaclare in County Clare. It has a population of about 20, which is decreasing constantly because of this recession. I have four sisters and no brothers, isn't my father blessed?I currently study makeup artistry in Galway Technical institute, which is an unreal course, it allows you to enhance your makeup application skills in theatrical, fashion and media makeup and you don't have to be a perfectionist to do the course, you just need to have a passion for makeup, like myself. :) I also have an amazing boyfriend who deserves a mention in this blog ;) and obviously cant forget my friends from primary and secondary school, who have stuck with me for better and for worse and of course my amazing new friends from college :)and huge huge family :D Love love love them all <3

Hopes and dreams :)

Where to start?! I think our hopes and dreams really begin when we're younger, we see our parents, or adults in general, going off to work, making money, putting food on the table, earning enough to keep the family going and we think to ourselves 'I want to do that someday!' The innocence of youth! I remember wanting to be a teacher, then an architect, a nurse, and so on until It was nearly the end of my childhood education, the Leaving Certificate examination, apparently the biggest exam of my life, or so I was told. I had one discussion with my careers guidance teacher, and knew I wanted to work with kids. I had been to college open days all over the country and my mind was made up, however, all of the usual doubts plagued me, 'what if I don't get good grades?', 'what If I fail the exam?'...etc. With all of these questions plaguing my mind I foolishly decided to go for a course with lower points, I picked an Arts course in NUIG. However, if I had been motivated enough to pick the course I actually wanted, I would have gotten it because I actually did very well in my exam. Lesson learned. I went on to college to do a course I disliked from the start and managed to spend a year there. I then decided to do a completely different course, makeup artistry, one of the best decisions I've ever made without a doubt. Why? Because I can actually see a future in this profession, which is hard to do, in a country riddled by recession. I would love to work in every kind of makeup industry, from the science in skin and cosmetics to crazy, gory, zombie makeup. I want to travel to many countries with my qualification, especially France. Of course being in a huge family from the country I couldn't stay away from home too long, can't beat mam's mashed potatoes! Or a walk down a quiet road with my mp3 player blasting out the tunes with nobody to bother me, no cars to worry about. My biggest hope or dream is that by the time I'm an old hag, I can look back at life and be proud to say I got through it and be content with the life I lived. After all you only live once, but if you do it right once is enough :)

Ok so to get down to business, my main ideas for blogs are, some makeup tutorials, any era looks anybody might want some help with if your going to a party, for Halloween or just for general day/night wear, some DIY tips for makeup, information about skin types, what foundation to wear to match your skin and what not to wear, for example, if you have dry dehydrated skin you should stay away from mousse foundations and powdered foundations as they tend to give that patchy flaky look. The best and cheapest brands for makeup, which will possibly be my easiest blog as I am a broke student, living on bread, pasta and noodles :D oh the student life! I will defenitely be doing some fashion blogs, penneys or primark hauls :) I live in there so that shouldn't be too hard! Some movie blogs, music blogs, food blogs, romance blogs, how to cope with a broken heart, etc ( I think we have all, or will have all been there at some stage!) I hope to do blogs for all ages, I have no target audience whatsoever, anybody can read these blogs :) Feel free to leave comments and suggestions anytime :)
